WHO I AM AND WHY I AM DOING THIS
This is by a Queer Woman of Color. You are here because the MBA process is not designed for you either.
As stated, I am a Queer Woman of Color who applied to MBA programs. I am slightly older than the median age of traditional MBA applicants (which is approximately 28). I live in a large U.S. city of over a million people. I work in the public/non-profit sector.
As I started this process, I realized there was no consolidated web resource for me to research so I decided to create one.
Don't get me wrong, there are TONS of resources out there for MBA applicants- in fact I hope to link to quite a few of them.
The challenges I found are plentiful and I hope to dissect them throughout the posts I make.
Aside from what resources existed for QWoCs, the first few questions that crossed my mind were:
-
What if you do NOT want to apply to Harvard, Stanford or Wharton?
-
What if you do NOT get a 780 on the GMAT?
-
What if you're an older applicant?
I hope to answer these and add quite a few more.
If you're here and you do not identify as queer, a woman or a person of color GREAT! This website is also designed for you! The goal is to freely and clearly share information that I wish was available when I started my MBA journey.
